True Blood Deborah Ann Woll named one of the ‘Sexiest Stars Of 2010.’ Entertainment Weekly has recently named True Blood star Deborah Ann Woll one of the sexiest stars for 2010. She’s number 27th on their list to be exact.
Deborah plays vampire Jessica Hamby on the popular HBO show, and is currently the only one from the show that made the list aside from former cast member Mehcad Brooks who played character Eggs in season 2. He came in at number 28.
Their description for Deborah is, “On a show as sexually charged as True Blood is, it can be tough to stand out. Unless you’re Deborah Ann Woll, whose innocent(ish) redheaded babyvamp Jessica steals the show, week after week.”
In related news, True Blood season 4 will reportedly be more wild than ever. They’ve already casts a couple of witches,a new male and female shapeshifter,Queen Mab,and more. Sam Trammell who plays Sam Merlotte recently revealed that episode one is going to amaze us from the start, and we’re going to find out if he really did shoot his trouble making little brother Tommy Mickens.
That`s how it`s called the new movie that Deborah is being a pat of. Deb plays Dawn – a girl working dead end jobs barely getting by in Vegas. Her live radically changes when Tes (Malin Akerman) has a run-in with an interesting stranger named Mel. When Mel (Bruce Willis) offers the girls (Tes, Kara (Nikki Reed) and Dawn) a chance at a better life through crime, they take him up on the offer only to find themselves thrust into a life or death situation involving a psychopathic hit-man, a grizzly trucker, and a delusional line cook.
In “Catch .44″ we can also see stars like Forest Whitaker, Bruce Willis, Malin Akerman and Nikki Reed
Here what Dark Horizons wrote about the movie:
Oddly little is known about this indie crime comedy aside from the three lead female roles have gone through more than a couple of rounds of casting musical chairs. The likes of Maggie Grace, Kate Mara, Laura Ramsey, Sarah Roemer, Lizzy Caplan and Lauren German were all attached at one point or another before the final trio of Malin Akerman (“Watchmen”), Nikki Reed (“Twilight”) and Deborah Ann Woll (“True Blood”) were settled on.
Bruce Willis, Forest Whitaker, Michael Rosenbaum and Brad Dourif also star with Willis as a crime boss behind everything that happens and Whitaker as a dangerously unstable assassin. Aaron Harvey, who last directed the little seen “The Evil Woods”, helms the project which was shot in Louisiana this past summer.
More than seventeen producers are credited on this which seems a little drastic for such a relatively modest revenge meets exploitation flick. With fewer action films offering leading roles to women these days though (let alone having multiple lead female roles), best to enjoy them where you can.
Deborah is rumored by EW to play the role in Universal Pictures` upcoming movie “Snow White and the Huntsman”.
Which fair actress might play the part of a storybook princess with “skin white as snow, lips red as a rose, and hair black as ebony”? Universal Pictures is reportedly looking for a young actress, possibly a lesser-known one, to play the starring role in Snow White and the Huntsman (Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender are rumored to be in talks for the roles for the evil queen and huntsman). So far, some of the names on the supposed shortlist have been Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, Felicity Jones (who was in 2008′s Brideshead Revisited and can be seen in Julie Taymor’s The Tempest), Bella Heathcote and Riley Keough — the granddaughter of Elvis, so no stranger to (rock) royalty.
If we had the power to control Hollywood casting (would that we could) and the time/space continuum (ditto), it’s fun to imagine a still-undiscovered Anne Hathaway or Mila Kunis in the role. Or push for Friday Night Light‘s Aimee Teegarden, True Blood‘s Deborah Ann Woll, or Harry Potter‘s Evanna Lynch, aka Luna Lovegood, to get a shot (What? They can dye their hair!). Plus, there’s reportedly a rival Snow White production in the works at Relativity Media entitled The Brothers Grimm: Snow White so perhaps plenty of apple-cheeked actresses might be in luck.
A few days ago, Suite101 posted a list with Top 10 Underrated stars in Hollywood. According to them these stars need more attention and recognition.
Here what they posted about Deborah.
Although attached to a slew of upcoming movies, Deborah Ann Woll was relatively unknown before earning the role of Jessica Hamby on HBO’s True Blood. When Jessica first appeared at the end of season one, it seemed like she was going to be an annoying thorn in the side of an otherwise very entertaining guilty pleasure, but she quickly proved us wrong.
The naïve nature that Jessica exudes could have been played real dumb by a less talented actress, but on a show that embraces campy and overstated performances, Woll is actually pretty low-key and helps to make Jessica one of the most honest and enjoyable parts of the show. Her back story is always intriguing and watching her wrestle with the feelings of guilt and shame instilled in her by her religious, dominating father back when she was a human is typically very moving.
One of the high points of the uneven past two seasons has been Jessica’s relationship with Hoyt. Playing a vampire right actually takes skill (that’s why so many come off as cheesy) and she’s able to do a perfect job balancing her human and supernatural natures and doing a great job conveying Jessica’s melancholy, sweet nature as she falls in love with Hoyt.
HollywoodLife posted a poll asking people who is the sexiest lady vampire. One of the nominated is our fabulous Deborah as Jessica in True Blood. Go and for her, guys! Also you can support her colegue from the HBO`s series Kristin Bauer (Pam).
Bon Temps may seem like your average sleepy Louisiana town, but that’s only if you overlook its smokin’ hot pair of lady vampires! Deborah Ann Woll as näive newbie vamp Jessica, and Kristin Bauer as wise-cracking vamp Pam, are two of the main reasons we’ll be tuning in to True Blood’s fourth season on HBO next summer.
We finally have more news about the new True Blood season.
